Welcome to CapitalPoint Financial

Here at CapitalPoint Financial, we pride ourselves on being a premier financial firm, committed to delivering outstanding financial services to clients across the world.

A cornerstone of our identity is our deep dedication to diversity and cultural understanding. We actively cultivate a multicultural work environment where diverse perspectives are not only valued but truly celebrated.

Since our founding in 2018, financial advisory was our initial core business. However, we recently underwent a significant and exciting evolution: our core financial advisory portfolio was acquired by one of our esteemed, award-winning financial partners. This strategic acquisition has allowed us to sharpen our focus and dedicate even more resources to expanding other key areas. We’re currently growing our asset management and personal/business banking services, and we’re excited to soon add health insurance services to our comprehensive offerings.

Furthermore, our loan service portfolio thrives through strategic partnerships with both private and public lenders, enabling us to provide a broad spectrum of solutions for our clients.

Your interest in joining us comes at a pivotal time. Our current recruitment efforts are absolutely crucial as we expand our services and strengthen our workforce following this acquisition. We believe that by growing our team, we’ll significantly enhance service delivery across all our portfolios.

Your Online and Virtual Interview Process

We understand that coordinating across different time zones can be a challenge, which is precisely why we’ve designed a comprehensive online interview process. Our initial questions were carefully crafted to thoroughly assess your skills and determine if you’re the ideal candidate for this role.

The upcoming live virtual assessment on Google Meet will primarily be for a meet and greet and visual assessment. This is a chance for us to connect with you further and for you to get a better feel for our team.

We currently have nine administrative assistants thriving in both in-office and virtual roles, and we’re incredibly excited about the possibility of you contributing your talents to our growing team.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why is my job offer conditional?

Your job offer is conditional because hiring an international candidate involves a multi-step process that must be completed before your employment can officially begin.

It’s an important step to confirm you have the necessary documentation to support the qualifications you’ve presented in your CV. This includes verifying your degrees, certificates, employment letters (current or past), work experience proofs, and confirming they align with your interview responses.

Specifically, your start date and official onboarding are dependent on you obtaining the necessary U.S. work visa. While we have confidence in your qualifications for the role, the visa process is governed by strict U.S. immigration rules and requirements. Only after you’ve successfully met all visa eligibility criteria and received formal approval from the U.S. government can your employment be confirmed.

The conditional offer ensures that both you and CapitalPoint Financial move forward responsibly and in compliance with all legal and procedural requirements.

2. What type of visa will I need for this role?

As a foreign national joining CapitalPoint Financial, the most common visa types that may apply to this position are:

  • H-1B – for skilled professionals in specialized fields
  • EB-3A – for skilled workers and professionals (employment-based green card)
  • EB-3C – for unskilled/entry-level positions

The next H-1B visa registration will be for Fiscal Year 2026 (started March 2025), which may not align with our desired timeline. For that reason, the EB-3 visa (permanent employment-based) is often the more practical path for foreign candidates at this time. Your immigration advisor will confirm which visa is most suitable. Your exact visa category will depend on your qualifications, experience, job role, and timing.

This is a general overview, the final visa route can only be determined after a formal eligibility assessment by an experienced immigration agency or attorney.

This involves analyzing your background, supporting documents, and the most current immigration policies.

3. Will CapitalPoint Financial sponsor my visa?

Yes, we will sponsor eligible candidates through the appropriate visa route once an immigration agency certifies your eligibility.

Sponsorship includes:

  • Filing required petitions (such as the PERM and I-140 for EB-3)
  • Providing necessary employment documents
  • Coordinating with your immigration advisor

4. What steps are involved in the visa process?
  1. You receive a conditional job offer from CapitalPoint.
  2. You contact a visa agency and undergo an eligibility check.
  3. If eligible, CapitalPoint applies for sponsorship to the U.S. government.
  4. USCIS reviews your case (this can take several weeks).
  5. If approved, you attend a visa interview at your local embassy.
  6. If successful, your visa is stamped in your passport.
  7. Prepare your travel

5. What are my responsibilities during the process?

  • Provide scanned copies of true and complete documents (degrees, work experience, passport, etc.) to our recruitment team for assessment.
  • Hire a visa agency from recommended list.
  • Undergo an eligibility assessment
  • Follow all agency instructions and timelines.
  • Be ready for interviews and appointments.

6. Why Do I Need to Use a Visa / Immigration Agency?

Getting a U.S. work visa is a highly complex process with strict eligibility requirements and steps.

While CapitalPoint Financial can assess and confirm your qualifications for this role, only an experienced immigration attorney or visa agency is equipped to accurately evaluate your eligibility for the visa itself.

7. Why should I pay for the agency? Shouldn’t the company pay?

Previously, employers covered the fees associated with immigration agency fees in addition to government and legal charges, however, we encountered serious challenges that made it unsustainable, such as:

  • Change of Mind: Candidates might simply have a change of heart about relocating, and withdraw after the employer had already invested money in their sponsorship process.

  • Candidates working with fake or unqualified agencies, leaving the hiring company to deal with the consequences.

  • Personal Circumstances: Unforeseen personal issues such as family matters arise preventing relocation – This is often common among married applicants.

  • Foreign nationals submitting false documents, hiding important details, such as previous visa denials, overstayed visas, which caused further complications and resulted in visa denials.

  • Better Opportunities: Candidate received a more attractive job offer from another company, either domestically or internationally and withdraws from the process.

How do these candidate withdrawals impact the employer?

While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, each of these situations caused financial loss, wasted time, and delays in our hiring process.

  • Filing Fees: Sponsoring a foreign worker through the U.S. immigration process involves considerable costs, with expenses reaching up to $8,000 per candidate . Once the process begins, a large portion of these fees (paid to the relevant government agencies) is non-refundable. In a situatuation the applicant withdraws, this money is lost.

  • Recruitment Costs: The significant time and money invested in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting candidates are lost.

  • Relocation Assistance: If any relocation benefits were offered or paid upfront, these might be unrecoverable.

This will not only affect CapitalPoint Financial but also impacts other qualified candidates waiting for same opportunity. Because of these issues, we have updated our reciutment policy.

What Has Changed?

To mitigate these challenges and ensure a higher level of commitment and accountability, we now require candidate(s) to cover the costs of engaging a visa agency and other related expenses for their visa processing.

As often observed that when an employer covers all expenses, candidates might be less committed to the process. However, when candidates invest their own resources, they’re typically much more diligent and far less likely to withdraw early or mishandle their application.

Here’s how this approach benefits both you and CapitalPoint Financial:

  • Increased Accountability: When you have a financial stake in the process, you’re more likely to see it through to completion.

  • Control over the process: You have direct control over your visa process , allowing you to build a relationship with your chosen immigration agency.

  • Protection for Both Parties: This policy helps protect both you and CapitalPoint Financial from unnecessary delays, legal risks, and wasted resources.

It also ensures that both sides are equally invested in making the process successful and enables us to identify applicants who are genuinely dedicated to relocating and contributing to our organization.

8. Can the company pay the agency fee and take it from my salary?

No. If we pay for your agency, it defeats the purpose of ensuring you are serious and committed.

Paying the fee yourself shows you are truly ready.

What if I cannot afford to pay for the agency?

We understand this may be difficult. But unfortunately, if you are not able to afford the required obligations, we will discontinue your job application.

9. Will CapitalPoint help me choose a visa agency? Can I choose my own?

Yes. We provide a list of recommended and vetted visa agencies that are experienced with U.S. immigration law. We encourage you to work with these verified professionals to reduce the risk of misinformation or fraud. Choosing a reliable agency is critical to the success of your application.

While it was previously common practice to allow foreign candidates to select their own immigration agency to manage their visa process, we have found that unrestricted use of external agencies increased the risk of:

  • Partnering with agencies that are not legally authorized to provide immigration services.

  • Experiencing complications due to a lack of expertise in U.S. employment-based visas.

  • Facing delays or miscommunication , which may put your visa application and our hiring schedule at risk.

  • Many candidates opt for low-cost agencies that often lack experience and do not work with licensed immigration attorneys, increasing the likelihood of errors, incomplete filings and visa denials.

For these reasons, we now require candidates to choose an agency from a list of pre-approved experienced agencies as recommended by international recruiters, to ensure a smoother, more reliable visa process.

By using the recommended agencies, you benefit from:

  • Verified expertise in U.S. immigration law.
  • Lower risk of scams or application errors.
  • Direct coordination between the agency, our HR team, and U.S. authorities.

10. Can I apply for the work visa by myself?

U.S. work visas, such as the H-1B, are not the same as tourist and other visas categories. Unlike short-term visas, work visas can potentially lead to permanent residency (a green card), which is why they are closely reviewed and highly regulated by the U.S. government.

These visas are also more complex and involve two separate steps:

1. Employer Process – Filed by CapitalPoint Financial

We, as your employer, must first file a formal petition with the U.S. government (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services – USCIS). This step confirms that:

  • The position qualifies for a work visa.
  • You meet the qualifications for the role.
  • We are legally sponsoring you for employment in the U.S.

2. Employee Process – Your Responsibility

Once the U.S. government approves our petition, you will then apply for the visa at your nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. This includes:

  • Submitting required documents (such as your degree, employment offer, and application forms).
  • Attending a visa interview.
  • Paying applicable fees.

Both parts must be completed successfully for you to receive your work visa and begin working in the U.S.

Given the complexity and high rejection rates, self-filing is extremely risky. If one small detail is missing or incorrect, your visa could be denied. A professional agency ensures compliance and maximizes approval chances.

11. How Will the Visa Agency Assist Me?

The agency will work with you from beginning to end:

  • Check if you are eligible for a U.S. work visa.
  • Help gather and prepare all documents.
  • Guide you in filling forms and making payments.
  • Handle the application process with CapitalPoint and the U.S. government.
  • Prepare you for the visa interview at your embassy.
  • Give advice about your family’s visas if they are relocating with you.

They will be your main point of contact, and they will also update us regularly on your progress.

12. What Are My Chances of Visa Approval?

No one can promise 100% that you will get the visa. However, working with a qualified immigration agency gives you a much better chance.

Even if CapitalPoint sponsors you, you can still be denied if your documents are incorrect, if your background does not meet the visa rules, or if you are not prepared for the embassy interview.

That’s why we recommend experienced agencies, they will guide you through the process to avoid mistakes.

13. How Can I Trust the Recommended Agency?

We only recommend verified agencies with a track record of success. These are licensed immigration services in the U.S. Canada or real law firms that we have checked ourselves. If any issues arise, we can intervene, ensuring you’re protected.

14. How long does the visa process take?

The full process usually takes between 3 to 6 months (90 to 180 days). It depends on:

  • USCIS processing times
  • Embassy appointment availability
  • How quickly you submit documents

15. Will CapitalPoint help with relocation and housing?

Once your visa is approved and you arrive in the U.S., our relocation package will include the following and other related expenses:

  • Pay for your economy-class flight ticket.
  • Provide free housing for your first two months to enable you settle in.
  • After the second month, you can choose to stay (and pay rent) or move to a new place.

16. Can I move with my spouse or children?

Yes, you can bring your family. After your work visa is approved, your spouse and children under the age of 21 may apply for H-4 dependent visas to join you in the U.S.

Your chosen immigration agency will guide you through this process and provide specific instructions tailored to your situation. However, please note that you will be responsible for any additional costs associated with the H-4 visa applications, unless there is a separate agreement in place with CapitalPoint Financial.

17. Can I negotiate the salary in my job offer?

No, the salary is fixed and follows U.S. government / Labor rules. However, you will be eligible for a salary review after 12 months, based on your performance.

18. How Many Positions Are Available for This Role?

There is only one position available for this role.

However, while the most qualified candidate will be given priority, there are additional requirements beyond skills and experience as a already outlined – particularly visa eligibility and sponsorship conditions – that must also be met.

To ensure a smooth hiring process and account for these factors, we shortlisted a pool of 10 candidates, starting with the most qualified. This allows us to move forward with the next best candidate if the top choice is unable to meet the necessary visa or other employment requirements.

This approach helps us maintain fairness, efficiency, and compliance throughout the recruitment process.

About Visa Sponsorship & Relocation

Q1: What type of visa does CapitalPoint Financial sponsor for the Health Insurance Consultant role?

For this Health Insurance Consultant position, CapitalPoint Financial primarily sponsors H-1B work visas. This category is specifically designed for “specialty occupations” that require a bachelor’s degree or higher in a specific field, which perfectly aligns with the medical expertise required for this role. We cover the costs associated with the sponsorship application.

Q2: How does CapitalPoint Financial support international hires with the fast-changing nature of U.S. immigration laws?

We understand that immigration laws can change. CapitalPoint Financial actively monitors all legal updates and maintains strong partnerships with reputable immigration agencies. These agencies are experts in U.S. immigration law and provide essential guidance to both the company and our international hires throughout the visa process, ensuring full compliance.

Our commitment includes adhering to U.S. Department of Labor regulations for H-1B workers, which ensure fair wages, benefits, and working conditions comparable to those of U.S. employees in similar roles. We ensure you receive competitive compensation in line with prevailing wage requirements.

Q3: What is the typical contract period for this visa-sponsored role, and is it renewable?

The H-1B visa is initially granted for up to three years and can typically be extended for a total of six years. Further extensions might be possible under specific conditions, for example, if you are pursuing permanent residency.

Our employment offers for visa-sponsored roles are for an indefinite period, contingent upon successful visa approval and adherence to immigration regulations. As long as the business need continues and you meet performance expectations, the role is renewable within the bounds of immigration law.

Q4: Does CapitalPoint Financial offer relocation assistance for international hires?

We provide relocation assistance, including housing assistance, for eligible candidates joining us from abroad. We aim to make your move to one of our U.S. locations as smooth as possible, allowing you to focus on settling into your new role and environment.

  • Settling-in Support: We provide resources for local amenities, schools for dependents, banking, and other essential services.

  • Cultural Integration: We encourage participation in company social events and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to help you connect with colleagues and acclimate.

Q2: How does CapitalPoint Financial determine if the offered salary is suitable for the cost of living in Illinois?

Your offered salary is benchmarked against market rates for similar roles in the Illinois area, considering the local cost of living.

We use data from reputable salary surveys and cost-of-living indices to ensure our offers are competitive and support a comfortable standard of living. Your relocation is a strategic investment for us, bringing in top global talent to enhance our service delivery and support our expansion.

Q3: Describe the onboarding process for international talent like me

Your onboarding process will begin after a successful visa approval. This grant is designed to offset costs associated with the relocation process.

Our onboarding program is structured and supportive:

  • Pre-arrival Support: We provide necessary documents and information well in advance.
