Senior Accountant – (Glenview)

Job Summary:

CapitalPoint Financial is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Glenview, IL.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

This role requires a strong understanding of accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and file various tax forms and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA.
  • Experience in the financial services or real estate industry.
